1980 - Introduction of the first conversational retrofit kit for a standard Bridgeport milling machine. Added 3-axis automation with full 3D capability.
1981 - Introduction of the first Compumill milling center, a 40-taper, fully-capable CNC knee mill.
1982 - Expansion of the Compumill CNC milling center line to 4 models.
1984 - Introduction of one of the first IBM-platform, PC-based CAM systems - CompuCAM.(CompuCAM is known today as MasterCAM, Mark Summer, founder of the MasterCAM, was the first employee of Compumachine.)
1985 - Introduction of Fadal machine centers to New England machine shops.
1990 - Completed over 1,000 installations of PC-based CAM systems, Compumill CNC milling centers, retrofits and rebuilds and Fadal machining centers.
1995 - With full-service applications, and one of the largest customer support groups in New England, Compumachine has over 2,000 installations from Ma and Pa job shops to fortune 500s such as like Polaroid, Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky Aircraft, G.E., Sylvania, Raytheon, Teradyne, Rockwell International and Northwest Airlines.
1998 - Acquisition of Kasahara Machinery in Sanjo City, Niigata, Japan. Formation of CKM, Compumill-Kasahara Machinery, a subsidiary of Compumachine. Introduction of the Compumill HMC-410, a fully-automated, twin-pallet horizontal machining center in collaboration with Kasahara Machinery.
1999 - Import VIBRA-FREE UHSHM center in collaboration with FMC of Niigata, Japan. The Vibra-Free, serves the mold, die, and graphite electrode market.
2006 - Compumachine and Fadal celebrate 21 years of partnership, over 3,000 Fadal VMC being sold and supported by Compumachine in New England since 1985.
2006 - Compumachine signs exclusive agreements with Okamoto, adding this most reputable grinding brand to our product offerings. In two years, Compumachine receives "Best New Dealer" award from Okamoto at IMTS2008.
2007 - Compumachine moves into state of the art 25,000 square foot facility in Danvers, Mass. complete with training facilities, fully stocked spare parts room and rapid customer support facilities. Adjoining building houses Cunningham Engineering who with 42 machines from Compumachine, is a testament to Compumachine's long standing relationships with job shops that grew with Compumachine.
2008 - Compumachine is appointed exclusive distributor by Hyundai-Kia for New England. This partnership expands our offering with extensive lines of turning centers, horizontal machine centers and vertical machine centers.
2010 - Compumachine achieves 4,000 CNC machine tool installations.
2012 - Compumachine signs as exclusive distributor for Hanwha Swiss turning machines.
2014 - Compumachine partners with the local vocational school in training future CNC machinist and CNC programmers. A "Compumachine Technology Center" was opened in the east wind of the newly finishsed state of art Essex Technical High School complex.
